talk for a day. walk away with a finished course your lms takes first try.

We write the script with you, direct your filming over a video call from your own spare room, cut it with motion graphics, and hand back a SCORM file with the quizzes already wired in. Honestly? The hardest part is picking your topic.

four pieces, one course out the other end

Hire us for one piece or all four. Most folks go with all four — handing your script to a stranger’s edit suite is exactly how courses end up feeling stitched together.

  1. instructional scripting

We interview you (it feels like a coffee chat, promise), map out learning objectives, then write every module word-for-word with on-screen notes for the edit. You redline, we revise, and the final version drops straight onto the prompter.

    • objectives
    • storyboards

  2. remote-guided filming

We mail you a kit and direct you live over video — framing, light, the occasional “say that bit again, but slower.” No studio, no commute, no makeup chair. You film in short takes; we watch every frame as it lands.

  3. editing + motion graphics

We cut the ums, tighten the pacing, and add animated diagrams, lower thirds and callouts that actually explain the thing you’re pointing at. Captions on every video, checked by a person.

  4. scorm packaging + quizzes

Knowledge checks between lessons, a final quiz with a pass mark, completion tracking — all packaged as SCORM 1.2 or 2004 and tested inside your actual LMS before we call it done.

the box that shows up a week before you film

Everything you need to look and sound like a proper course, minus the studio rental. Unbox it, we hop on a quick setup call, and the morning of filming you just… sit down and talk.

  1. # your whole prep list. really.
  2. [x] a room with a door that closes
  3. [x] a window you can face (or use our light)
  4. [x] a solid-color top — tiny stripes shimmer on camera
  5. [x] your notes nearby. the script’s on the prompter
  6. [x] water, plus a snack for the 2pm slump
  7. # we handle the rest over the call.

~/who’s-on-the-call

a small crew under the palisades

Abacadence is a handful of producers, writers and editors working out of 712 Undercliff Ave in Edgewater, NJ — the cliffs are literally out the back window. We started because we kept meeting brilliant teachers whose course had been “almost ready” for three years.

So we built the boring, reliable machine that gets it finished: one script, one filming day, one edit, one zip. The same producer sits on your scoping call, directs your filming, and signs off the final package — so nothing gets lost in a handoff.

one zip file, and your lms just… takes it

the honest answers, before the first call

still stuck? ask us at (360) 931-6159.

i freeze up on camera. is that a problem?

Super common, and it’s exactly why filming is directed live. You read from a prompter loaded with your own script, we stop you when you rush, and we shoot in short takes so nobody’s delivering a 20-minute monologue. By lesson three most people forget we’re on the call.

my content’s a mess — slides, notes, half a book. still okay?

Honestly, that’s our favourite starting point. Scripting is where we sort it: we interview you, pull out the learning objectives and turn the pile into modules. You don’t need anything organized before the scoping call.

will it actually work in our lms?

We package as SCORM 1.2 or 2004 (xAPI if you ask), test in SCORM Cloud, then upload a test build to your real LMS before handoff. If your admin needs specific completion or pass-mark settings, mention it on the call and we’ll build to them.

how long does a short course take?

Usually six to eight weeks: around two for scripting, one filming day, then editing and packaging. Your redline turnaround is the big variable — we put real dates on a shared calendar once the scope is set.

what if i don’t love the first cut?

Every module comes with two rounds of edit notes. Past that, extra changes run $165 an hour, and we’ll always tell you before the clock starts — no quiet add-ons on the invoice.

who owns the footage and scripts?

You do. Scripts, raw footage, project files, captions and the final zip all land in a shared folder that stays yours after we wrap.
